I'll take your word for it.

But in my experience with these engines and several engine builders,  
the usual cause of primary drive failure was fatiguing of the gears  
due to materials failure (the hard-face of the gears wore through,  
exposing the soft material underneath or the gears cracked), nothing  
to do with side loads (which would typically be demonstrated through  
failures of the main bearings due to side load stresses, not the  
primary gears).
