Naaa... They went to a new engine in '55, and nowadays their engine is made by a Japanese company in China.
Which reminds me of those Lee Iococa (sp?) ads saying to buy American (referring to the Dodge Colt which was actually made in Korea vs. the Honda Accord which was actually made in Ohio). To me, that may have been the funniest ad of all time.
