I hate scotch of any age. Can't stand the taste of the stuff.
When I was younger and the family holidayed in Scotland we would visit
a distillery or two. Interesting but also a little odd as neither of
my parents liked scotch either.
In my Dad's line of work, he used to employ various contractors -
plumbers, joiners, builders etc. Every Christmas the contractors he
worked with would bring him a Christmas gift. Sometimes chocolates for
Mum and always whisky for him. We had cupboard upon cupboard full of
whisky from years of Christmas gifts. After some years he managed to
persuade a few of the people that he really did prefer a bottle of
sweet sparkling wine :-)
It's almost 4 years now since Dad died so no more whisky in the house
but talks of whisky always remind me of those Christmas bottles of
Grants and Bells and Glenfiddich.
