It's a pretty leaf and it's exposed correctly, but somehow the image lacks excitement for me. Aesthetically, it would probably have benefited by more leaves or skewing the angle differently.

I think the background is not really cooperating. If it was a bunch of other leaves, or if it was pine needles or a rock... the background seems to compete because it's cluttered and clumpy.

Just my opinion.

This is undoubtedly clichéd but I quite like it.

It almost never happened. My wife had to point out the photographic possibilities several times before I noticed. I'm hopeless and "seeing" potential images....
