skye, Sorry to hear of your problems.
I sent my K10D to Pentax to repair the SD card door and scratched rear screen. I couldn't raise Phil Kerswill, but asked for rush service. They took the full 8 or 10 days but returned it in good order, but it was expensive. I had dropped the camera with the SD card door open and broke the door off near the hinge. I had left the camera in a rolling bag touching an exposed screw head and rolled it thru the airport. Tape fixed the door, but the scratching was still an issue. I opted to go for the repair. If doing it again, I'd consider selling the back-up DS and just getting a new K10D. (Did I menton it was an expensive repair!) Regards, Bob S.
