6 years seems awfully short-lived. I've had the one-model-up 328 Flashmate for over a decade and it's working fine. My previous digital lightmeter was a Minolta Autometer II and I've had that one since 1982, sold it to a friend when I bought the Sekonic and he's still using it. I'd call the Sekonic distributor and see what they'll do for you on service. I had my other Sekonic serviced when its calibration went wonky and they decided to do it as warranty, even though the unit was clearly years beyond the warranty period.
