The SPD is about the last component I'd suspect in this case, it's a
virtual no-load component and should last a very long time.

The meter as a whole should be good for far longer than six years
unless it's been subjected to extreme heat or condensation.

Repair/calibration maybe inexpensive, it may simply be a common fault
with these units.
