Please forgive any typos, I really don't like laptop keyboards.... So, it's Saturday, and I have had an interesting time already. I left Wednesday just before 11:00AM, and spent the next 12 hours behind the wheel of my truck. I managed to get just south of Missoula Montana, I believe the place I stopped at is called Como Lake. It seemed nice, considering it was dark when I got there, and barely light when I left on Thursday at about 6:00 in the AM. I think it was about 2:00 that I found the entrance road to Tom's place, and another hour after that I Found his house. Tom lives at the top of a mountain, accessed by a very narrow and winding road that is a step down from a logging road, and his place is every bit as lovely as his pictures show it to be. He is also a most excellent host, and a very good cook, and quite the wine connoisseur. His wife is even more gracious and has the added advantage of being a most attractive lady. They also have a 16 year old son. We will say nomore on that subject.... Actually, he is a very fine whip of a lad, who, from all appearances, will grow to be a fine young man, and a credit to the species. We had a very enjoyable couple of days of visiting, taking silly pictures, some nice pictures, enjoying excellent food and drink, playing with his funny little dogs and trying to get one of his hundred or so "pet" hummingbirds to land on our fingers. I finally dragged myself away from there at about noon today, and am now barricaded in a hotel room in beautiful downtown Fillmore Utah. I was originally planning on cutting across the state towards Moab, but decided at the last minute (read I missed the exit) to continue south and go through Bryce Canyon and Kodachrome Basin. I will probably spend tomorrow night at Kodachrome, Monday at Monument Valley and then start my mad dash towards the east coast. on Tuesday. I am still planning on arriving at the mountain on Thursday, though it would surprise me not at all if I end up not arriving until Friday. And now, on to the 607 messages in my PDML box....
