Unless it is. Other FA lenses on MTF program have given me f/5.6 through much of the range (on my Z-1p; haven't checked on the D or k10D), IIRC. Maybe f/4 =is= the best aperture. Rick ----- MTF program line will give F4 from 16-28 mm., and F4.5 above that. At least on my DA 16-45, F4-F4.5 are demonstrably not the best apertures. They are good and useable, but not the best. This problem has made me wonder if Pentax didn't implement MTF properly in the DA 16-45's chip, or in the DSLRs.
