CATEGORICALLY FALSE - this particular bokeh problem can be easily
seen in-camera viewfinder when focussing, can be seen in the
unedited RAW files, can be easily seen with ZERO
sharpening, and BOKEH is of such a scale
relative to sharpening that I
believe this post is wrong about
any bokeh issues with ANY
lens. I dont know where he came up
this hogwash that its being caused
by sharpening or ANY image processing, but it not only isnt
true in this case, it makes NO SENSE
in any case. BOKEH is large out of focus
highlights, sharpening doesnt effect
that, it only effects things nearly
in focus or things in focus because
it works on detected edge transitions.
I think he should have asked about processing
before claiming processing most like
is screwing it up or stating that
this model lens has "the smoothest
bokeh he's ever seen", any fool
can see its really weird in the
photos I have posted and should have
known that normal sharpening doesnt effect
bokeh and should have READ that
I already stated its visible in
the camera viewfinder but this
guy doesnt read before he runs
his mouth.

Secondly, even his "proof" example is bad example because
it is showing simple "stripes" of background
out of focus, not points, out of focus points
(specular) highlights reveal the bokeh problem
with this or any lens much more than stipes
like that can.

Something I discovered very early on, thanks to Valentin, was that the
surest way to screw up bokeh is to apply sharpening to the image. The
M85
has just about the smoothest bokeh of any lens I have seen:
http://plg.komkon.org/m85_2/bo1.html.
But, like anything else, heavy handed treatment can bugger things up.
