Actually, I took it from the scenic viewpoint between the Mammoth main lodge 
and Devil's Postpile.  It was an opportunistic shot--I was vacationing with 
family.  I've ridden the gondola to the top of Mammoth Mountain so many 
times that I didn't bother to pay the $$$ to ride it again last fall.  Sure 
is a pretty area, isn't it? 

It's no wonder that it has drawn so many photographers over the years.
