Me too, I want to be able to remove the neck-strap easily ...

Hmm, too much sharp metal for my taste, 
they WILL damage the camera after a while ...

I used a short loop of an old strap (much like Cotty I guess :-)
plus some non-scratching 'carabine' aluminium hooks:

The third row in that gallery shows details of the lugs.
The lugs are small enough to not be in the way
with the neck-strap removed ...
