Just ignore my last post. Misinformation I am tired, and was thinking of the 55 F1.8.
But the 50 F1.7 did originate in 1977, and continued through M, A, F, and FA versions until it was terminated recently. Joe ----- The 50 F1.7 started out as an M42 lens.
