Hard to tell. The workstation we just set up for me is an AMD64 bit dual. We took a box stock Future Shop Hewlett Packard and made a few mods to it. We put 2 gigs of ram into it, and added a couple of SATA drives in external boxes for swap and storage and put a decent video card into it. It runs fast enough, and wasn't overly expensive.
