Matt,

These are good.  What were you shooting with?  The
white balance is rather warm, which should be
correctable if you were shooting RAW or negative film
(if the lab scanned a CD for you, they should do it
again to get the WB right).  Moving in closer with a
longer lens would have been a help at times, too.

Shooting these sorts of events, one is largely at the
mercy of the director (some keep the players close
together, others space them out) and whoever does the
lighting.  Unfortunately the crew didn't do you any
favors with the lighting here--some well-directed
spots would have been a big help.

I began shooting plays and concerts when I was in HS
(in the 1960s), and kept doing it until my son
graduated last year.  It's fun!
