Not me. I like primes period. Trouble is, with a 1.5X crop factor, all of the older primes we already own are longer now than we'd like (even if there are some advantages to turning a 400mm in a 600mm, and so on).
So, I can either sell the great primes I own, or invest in the DA Pentax primes. But, I won't sell the primes I have since I still plan on shooting with my film cameras and Pentax's DA prime line up is limited (no pun intended). That's why the current zooms, like the 10-17mm fisheye and the 16-45mm, seem so attractive. No crop, and they're on the wide end. -Brendan --- Markus Maurer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I begin to wonder a bit: > with the transition to digital most of you seem to > like Zooms now where in > the analog world most of you used primes for best > results. > What happened here? > > just wondering > Markus, who still uses film for a few weeks :-) > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > Paul Stenquist > Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2006 2:22 AM > To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List > Subject: Re: 16-50 f2.8 > > > Yes, the 12-24 is clearly an amazing lens, probably > the best DA thus > far.
