It's still a bit sore but I've had the bandage off for a while now. I took it off after a week so I could wash the car, and it wasn't painful so I just left it off. I must have come pretty close to breaking it, or maybe I did but only a little. I can't really be bothered getting it looked at :) It's getting stronger but is just taking a long time to do so. > Is that a shock absorber incorporated into the bike frame? Yep... many offroad bikes have them now. They make a big difference to the handling on rocky terrain, at the expense of a little pedalling efficiency (this can be minimised by smooth pedalling). Bikes with rear suspension range from about 4" of travel all the way up to 8 or 10" for downhill racers. Mine's about 5-1/2" which is getting close to the maximum that's practical for riding cross- country trails. I did manage to go for a ride this morning and had so much fun (despite one small glitch with the chain which I fixed later) that I went up again this afternoon. Unfortunately the wind had picked up and I'm now both sunburned and exhausted. But still happy :) - Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
