I've been fairly inconsistent on this over the years, but these days I aim for a 650 pixel image on the long axis - that includes a border around it with my website address and copyright notice.
For the blog I drop that down to 400 pixels on the long access. I figure folks with laptops might hit the blog more often and have lower display capabilities. I think every photo has its own ideal size, and the reality is that small, web-sized photos drive a certain compositional ethic that large prints don't. I won't rant and rave about it here, since I have already done that here http://tinyurl.com/wtt77 and here http://tinyurl.com/yx7r9s - MCC >> cbwaters wrote: >> >>> What pixel size is good for PESOs? >>> I usually try to stay around 800x600 so as not to offend the >>> monitorally >>> challenged. >> I've seen quite a few analyses of browser statics across the web, but >> for screen size they usually agree pretty closely with this one: >> >> http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp >> >> [Search Google for "browser screen resolution statistics" for about >> five >> million more sites. :-) ] >> >> Based on 1024 x 768 being the most common, I try to keep my web photos >> to 800 pixels or less on the long edge. >> >> -- >> Thanks, >> DougF (KG4LMZ) >> -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mark Cassino Photography Kalamazoo www.markcassino.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
