No, the D grip is finicky.  Basically if either wheel on the grip is
between detents, then the body wheels don't work quite right.  This is
a known behavior for us who have had these beasts for a long time.

The fix is to make sure that both wheels on the grip cleanly click
into place.  After that, setting the other things will work fine.
