That's your perception.  Now look at the person who shot a roll of film, took 
it wherever and came out an hour later (having done something else in the 
meantime) with a handful of 6x4s, a proportion of which they would throw away.  
Will they want to sit in front of a computer sorting stuff out to get their 
prints?  Don't think so.

It works for you but it doesn't work very well for me and it works very badly 
for some people - I suggest that they are the majority of camera users.
