hogwash, then explain to me why every zoom lens I have ever used in my entire life and thats a whole bunch of them has been easier to focus at the long end even though the speed was the same (or sometimes even slower on some varible aperture zooms?) I'll tell you why, because there is less DOF the image snaps in an out of focus faster at the long end than compared to the wide end.
And the parameters we were talking about were a 35mm vs a 105mm which isnt even close. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of William Robb Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 6:57 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: Using a Super Tak w/ istDS- A challange to the list? ----- Original Message ----- From: "J. Photographers who are experienced at rapid shooting with plain matte screens tend to key on particular things to determine focus. When what they key on "pops" into focus is pretty much all that matters, and the focal length or maximum aperture of the lens, while a factor, may not make all that much difference, especially within the parameters that this topic has set.
