I was at the show by spontaneous chance. Don't know how I feel about
the k10D -- it seems very big to my small hands, significantly much
more so than the D which I bought after not being able to manage the
canons and nikons available in 2004.

Almost came to blows with the counterperson while asking questions to
try to check whether I'd still be able to clean my own sensor with
eclipse/methanol, what with their snazzy new coating and all. He was
adamant that they recommend against you cleaning it yourself, and I
kept saying "yes, BUT" because I've already had to clean it multiple
times this year, thus saving myself a couple hundred dollars and
untold time. Also no reply on how Visible Dust's whirling dervish
brush is going to behave with the sticky tape. Not good, I would
imagine.

Velbon's showstaff mentioned that B&H were having some show specials
-- I had my eye on getting a light travelpod, so I headed over to B&H
on Sunday. That's where I found out that the specials were contingent
on your having gotten their show brochure. I hadn't stopped at the B&H
booth because it was closed on Sat.

The tripod guy absolutely refused to cut me a break, so I went over to
another department whose person who was more than happy to help me
out. All it was, was having to input a special code into their
computer, and I didn't need a coupon at all. He had all his own
department codes memorised, and just looked up the tripod code for me.
Tripod guy was an absolute a-hole though. 15% off velbon pods, 25% off
tamrac bags, it's a few dollars here and there but it all adds up for
me.
