I go to the local guys whenever I can, but that usually means for
supplies and stuff, not lenses and cameras. None of the places around
here stock Pentax other than the very least expensive items. For
example, if they have a Pentax lens, it's the 18-55, not the 16-45.
They probably don't even have an allocation of K10Ds but I ought to go
see if they have K100Ds or K110Ds.

Of course they'll order the cameras and lenses for me, but want 25% more
than I can get it from B&H or Adorama. On the *ist D that was like US$
300 when I bought mine. I'd have paid a US$50 or US$ 75 premium, but
not US$ 300! They can get things like eye cups and real Pentax lens
caps and flash shoe covers cheaper than Pentax will sell them on their
web site.

And I refuse to buy CF and SD memory from them when they're twice as
expensive as CompUseless or RadioTarPaperShack ... which are both more
expensive than the local Fry's or Internet ordering.

But I go to the local guys for everything that they're "reasonable"
about (by my definition) ... developing (not much anymore), camera bags,
filters, tripods, heads, and various other widgets.
