I bought all of my M lenses from a guy who was selling Pentax to buy 
Nikon.
That transaction didn't do a lot for Pentax.

Canon FD users got the shaft. At least the ones I know feel that way.
They lost the ability to move forwards with their present lenses.
Pentax users have not lost that ability, they can still take pictures 
with their ancient lenses on the newest DSLR cameras.

The aperture simulator has not been removed from Pentax DSLR cameras.
