They didn't just drop FD support, they IMPROVED
Their entire SLR system too via EOS lensmount. Pentax is dropping full
K/M support WITHOUT any improvements to their
Lensmount at all.

How many times are we going to cover this and
Why cant you understand that key difference?

There were and still are plenty of FD film bodies to go
Around. Are you implying that Canon should be
Making new DSLRs for FD lenses now after 20 yrs
Since going to EOS mount?

The lenses are usable on an optical adaptor at the moment, it stands to
reason that the lens can be used as a manual diaphragm lens.
The adaptor available doesn't appear to have any moving parts.

Through all this, you have studiously ignored the other option Canon
had, which was to continue support of FD lenses by continuing to make FD

bodies.
Minolta did this with MD mount cameras well after the introduction of
the MAxxum.
Canon chose another path, the one where the customer pretty much gets
shafter.

You are also avoiding your previous statement regarding long term
support of lenses being of the greatest importance, and in fact, you
have said you would consider buying a camera from a company that has a
history of dropping support for their customers.
