You are contradicting yourself. On one hand you Say that "pros" want and or need automation like AF or quickshift but on the other hand you say They don't need the automation that K/M lenses Can provide and has been left of the recent DSLR cameras. This, IMHO, makes you full of shit!

One changes one's tools as time progresses to obtain the best advantage for the work at hand. Most professional shooters will prefer to move to the latest glass to take advantage of improvements in lens design and coatings, as well as other features like AF and QuickShift, rather than harboring an large collection of ancient lenses that pose no real advantage to their work. They don't become "attached" emotionally to the equipment or a single way of working. For my needs as a professional photographer, the amount of backwards compatibility provided by Pentax is more than adequate. For the extremely few, unique lenses that I might desire despite how old they are, the current setup works satisfactorily for anything I might consider doing with them.
