One of our clients is a big American bank. Last year I was on a conference call with them during a bit of a flap and they asked me what we should do.
"The first thing we do", I said, "is sit down and have a nice cup of tea". The burst of laughter that came down the phone nearly blew the speakers, but it certainly blew away the tension. I got that advice from the SAS, believe it or not.
