Seconded. Those Sigma lenses are junk. I played with a few at my last job, and never liked 'em. If price is a concern, the Pentax DA 18-55 (aka the real kit lens for that camera) is a very nice lens. I got one off ebay for US$90 and it's a nice little lens for everyday use. You may want to take a look at Tamron's Di lenses. They're good, and usually not too expensive.
