Irrelevant to the discussion.
The point is, people can use M42 bodies on any K mount camera, inclding 
DSLR.
Whether it is convenient or not in't particularly germaine.
Your rational with Canon, if carried over to Pentax would be that M42 
lenses would not be usable at all on K mount bodies.
