That's not entirely true. Both Tamron and Tokina have pretty much nailed 
the EF protocols, and they don't normally have issues with newer bodies 
unless the lenses are from the early years of EOS. It's Sigma that 
continues to have problems with anything electronic (Ironic since their 
Sigma AF mount is actually a clone of EOS electrically).
