It's slightly different from it used to be in previous Windows versions. When 
you give it a name, then I think it sets the restore point from the time and 
day you are doing it. But can't swear to that, since it's been a while since 
I've done it. It may allow you to set a date and time after you give a name.

Basically, it means that if something goes wrong, you can go to system 
restore and set it back. As in, label Ilikeitnow and then if you download an XP 
update and don't like it, you can go back and restore it to Ilikeitnow. Well 
worth 
creating some restore points, just for that.
