Thanks to everyone who commented.  This was taken from the east bank 
Quinnipiac river in New Haven, CT.  (Some people may recognize the city 
as the home of Yale University).  This particular area was the home of a 
vibrant coastal shipping industry and Oyster fishery from about the 
1820s to the early1900's. Up river was a major part of the arsenal of 
Democracy during WWII, and the electronics revolution after that.  Which 
pretty much finished off the Oyster fishery. Part of the benefits of the 
de-industrialization of New England is how much cleaner the river is now 
than it was 40 years ago.
