I've got what is probably the previous version. Mine is branded as
the "CompactDrive PD70X" and I got the recommendation from this list so
others here have liked it.
I carried it around the UK and France for a couple of months last year. I
had a couple of 2GB cards and never needed to use it in the field, it was
always back at the hotel or B&B.
Worked fine with my *istD and my girlfriend's Optio WP (a nice little camera
BTW)
I never had a problem reading cards.
It wouldn't charge SONY Nimh batteries but was fine with others.
I also copied the files over to a sub-laptop (old Sony Libretto) and at
another stage to a friend's PC to burn CDs. No issues connecting or
transferring files.
Summary: It works and eliminates the need to carry a battery charger as
well.
