If you mean 10 inches is not big then sure (the bigger the stingray, the bigger the barb; my ex-brother-in-law was nailed by a big ray in the ankle, the hole it left was pretty freaking big). I'm guessing blood loss and shock is what did him in. They were pretty far from the island where the rescue helicopter picked them up.
