No actually, take the snake bite over the croc bite. Croc's generally don't let go until you have been dragged under the water and drowned. Stories of people surviving croc attack are rarer than those of people being killed.
One of my friends did his BSc at JCU in Cairns. The guy who lectured on reptiles had some impressive scars he got from a python bite. He came a cross an Amethystine (Scrub) Python sunning itself on a road one morning and decided to drag it off the road so that it wouldn't get run over. The python objected and bit him on the arm. He was less concerned with it's welfare after that. The largest recorded Amethystine is 7m long, our biggest snake but nowhere near the deadliest. We have 9 out of the 10 deadliest land snakes and also have sea snakes which are supposed to be even more venomous. All of our wildlife is still wild, so if it can't sting or poison you there is still the chance of a scratch or bite. Even wombats will bite. And as for Black Mambas... give me a croc any day. John -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
