USM units are driven my an AC current but that current is transformed
into a mechanical action via piezoelectric elements. These vibration
elements due to their configuration cause a stator to rotate. It just
happens that the mechanical vibrations are at a frequency above that
of normal human audibility hence the term Ultra-sonic.
