Here's the second update. There's an incredible lot of posts, so it's hard to keep up here. I'm trying to consider info that seems to emerge from more than one "unrelated" source. The more sources the better, I guess. Remember also that this is not meant to be the ultimate truth about the K10D. I'd rather have it that it is about how well
the combined leaks will match the official info, when that comes. PowerZoom seems to be voted out of the equation all together, despite the reports of re-introducing the contacts to the mount. Personally, I believe that Pentax could reuse the contacts for delivering power to an USM lens, and use the lens recognition software to discern between USM and PZ lenses. The threshold for re-introducing PZ functionality in the K10D would be a very small one. So, by consensus, the PowerZoom revival has been removed from the list for now. Are you sure you don't want this, guys? You know, something to set Pentax apart from the crowd of DSLR producers? :-) Anyway, it seems that everyone thinks the KAF3 is all for in-lens AF, so that goes up unless someone objects. Rob Brigham's post refers a whole host of features. I'd say 3 fps move back to "facts" section, based on that. 22 bit A/D has been referred by both Robs, and with a link to technology that makes it plausible. I'd say that goes up too. No buffer congestion with JPEG also seems to follow from the same Rob & Rob reports. Anti-dust mechanisms now also have two seemingly independent reports, so i'd like to put that up to "Fact" level as well. I have also added a "mysteries", just to have somewhere to put the new acronyms on the dial, the "Sv" and the "TAv" "Facts": 10 Mpx Anti-shake KAF-3 => USM SD memory cards, with support for >2 GB cards. Battery grip HyperProgram (two wheels) 3 fps Extended dynamic range (22 bit A/D) No buffer congestion with jpeg Anti-dust mechanism on the sensor "Speculations": Proprietary Li-Ion battery, but option for AA. Buffer twice as big as *istD Weather sealing Full metal body Interchangeable focus screens 11 point AF "Mysteries": Sv-mode TAv-mode Jostein -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
