Pentax is going to be selling a 16/50/2.8 later this year. That probably has a lot to do with Tamron's decision. Plus, Pentax is partnered with Tokina on lens development. I am completely happy with the Pentax lenses. I have no desire for third party lenses. And with the new lenses that will be available soon, there won't be any gaps in the lineup. The DA lenses have so far proven to be superb. The 12-24/4, for example, is a gem.
