Lucky guys. Here I have to drive to Blowing Rock where there is a fake tourist Irish Pub called the Six-Pence. There are also about 4 restaurant/night clubs there. Here in Boone there are several college beer joints, but nothing an adult would want to go to. Actually, a liquor by the drink law failed to pass last election and beer joints have only been allowed for about 7 years. I miss the neighborhood bars that abounded in Detroit where you could go for a drink and a bit of conversation. The Six-Pence is the only place around here that is not a "Party Time" place. The only real problem is it is 8-10 miles away and has tourist prices <sigh!>.
