I can't think of the right word to describe it. Although it is a
fairly simple composition and a nice scene it is quite confusing,
maybe that's the word, to look at. The natural direction of the
waterfall or weir is obviously down, but the sweep of edge of the
waterfall takes your eyes across the frame, and across the water. The
line of trees then cuts downwards across that sweep and against the
flow of water, so the eyes are taken in several directions at once,
and can't find a place to settle. This seems to run counter to what is
expected from a picture of a waterfall.
