I found it almost impossible to keep our dye subs neutral enough for black and white printing. They are very prone to dust specks getting imbedded under the dye layers. The colour response tends towards garishness, and the red response generally leaves much to be desired. I believe they are quite expensive to run, though whether more or less pricey than an inkjet I don't know.
