Hi Bruce,

I feel somewhat similar to Bill. For a while you were posting a lot of
such shots, and they were becoming repetitive, but I also knew that your
Little League stuff was just around the corner, so I didn't say anything,
although I think we may have touched on the subject when we got together
for dinner a few weeks ago. Anyway, as you say, we all photograph what we
know best, what's available to us, and what we like.

Now, I think you've pretty much nailed this approach and style of
photography with this subject, but not exhausted the possibilities. Try
some different camera positions, perhaps shoot around the subject some
more, when you get the shot you like, take some more with a different lens,
or from a different position, or try for a different background, perhaps
with more or less detail, or think more abstractly. IOW, can you move what
you're doing further along, push your envelope or comfort zone, take more
chances and risk more failures?

And just so some readers of this post who may think I'm being overly
critical know it, I like Bruce's stuff enough to have gotten, what was it
Bruce, three prints, one of which graces my desk and another which went to
a lady friend (who, incidentally, loved it as well), and a third was sent
off to a fellow in prison with whom I correspond, in order to add a little
joy and brightness to his otherwise drab existence.

Shel
