It sounds like the "A" contact on the lens mount is either dirty or
damaged. Easy fix if you don't mind disassembling the lens mount a
bit. Or a repair should could probably fix it easily and inexpensively
for you.

That reminds me, I need to bring my A28/2.8 to my repair guy this
week. Exactly the same problem.
