Hi Aaron,
Do you have PSCS 1? It's just about as good as version 2. I have one at 
home, two at work. Version two adds some nice tweaks, but the results 
are pretty much the same. The upsizing from conversion is very good in 
both. You have to dodge and burn post conversion. But you can of course 
pull down highlights and pump up shadows (or the opposite) at the 
conversion stage using the exposure, brightness and shadows sliders. 
Post conversion the highlights/shadows tool is also very effective. 
Better than dodge and burn in some situations. Among the best features 
of two is the noise filter. In PSCS one, you can eliminate some noise 
in conversion with luminosity control and color noise filter.
