I've not used PSE3-4 more than a couple of times at the store. It does allow use of Camera Raw v3.4, which is very good, but then again it does not allow access to anything but the basic features... I don't think it does batch conversions although I could be wrong.
PSE3-4 costs about $80 at street pricing, where RAW Developer costs about $100 and is more full featured as a RAW conversion application. RAW Developer does allow batch conversion and is pretty efficient at it. I find that its *default* settings are often better than Camera Raw's ... They can both be made to do the same thing, but for those who want to spend the minimum time tailoring conversion adjustments, it might produce a better result in less time. As you might imagine, I'm quite impressed with RAW Developer based on my testing. My biggest issue is not whether it's good but how well I could integrate it into my image processing workflow. Photoshop CS2 + Bridge + Camera Raw is a very compelling set of tools that gets LOTs of work done very efficiently.
