You mentioned the coming 16-50/2,8 here. I just read a test of the Tokina 16-50/2,8 in a Swedish magazine. I believe thats basically the same lens, but without the Pentax coating. I've also been very curious about the new Pentax lens, and still am. The test data indicates that the Tokina version has poor edge resolution at wide open. It is acceptable at f:8 but not impressing. Centre looks all right, bit not spectacular. It also vignettes a lot in the wide end.
Ok. Tests are tests, and it is just one magazine. But my expectations have been adjusted down a bit after reading this test.
