States' and 'analyzing them for patterns' will help fight terrorism. That
data base would contain a preponderance of useless, irrelevant data.
It's not for fighting terrorism, Tom.
Bush and his pals represent big oil (Bush) and big arms manufacture
(Cheney).
So, they set up a boogeyman in the form of faceless terrorists.
This is the best kind of enemy for these people. They could be hiding around
any corner, and they could look like anyone.
Could be that your next door neighbor is making anthrax in his basement.
Anyway, once they have you scared, then they can start down the road to a
police type state (or in the case of the USA, even more of a police state
than what existed before the events that started the present insanity.
The arms manufacturers get richer (Cheney) since it takes a lot of weaponry
to run a war, and the oil guys get richer (Bush) since the instability that
the arms guys have precipitated in the Middle East has caused the price of
oil to rise by a rather large amount.
Of course by the time they have secured the free world an oil supply, the
war machine will have burned it all off running Hummers around the desert.
