When I did workshops in national parks and state parks I always jumped through all the hoops in advance. The paperwork is intimidating, and you have to have insurance coverage protecting the park, pay into workman's comp, etc., etc. It took days to do the paperwork and cost hundreds of dollars, but it was always peace of mind to know the rangers were on my side. It's just not worth it to try and sneak under the wire.
