On 1/5/06, William Robb, discombobulated, unleashed:

>I've been talked to a couple of times, but I was shooting 4x5. Assurring
>them that I was not shooting commercially was enough.
>I believe some NPs don't allow commercial shooting at all, and some charge
>for it, but amateur shooting comes with the price of admission.

Funny how things go full circle. Paps on the beaches of Barbados have a
hard time getting decent shots of celebs with 400s and 600s under their
towels as they lie basking. There's no hiding the fact that gear like
that means only one thing.

A retired snapper's son now works for a tabloid (The Sun - a bit like
the National Enquirer) and to get his celeb sets he takes his girlfriend
along to the beaches and carries only a top level point and shoot. That
way he gets closer to the A-listers he's identified, and then puts his
girlfriend between himself and the celeb. For all intents and purposes,
he's happily snapping away at his chicklet. I expect this rouse has a
limited shelf life though.

Next time on Pap Those Celebs - 'Gee Mr Douglas, will you please hold my
baby so I can get a nice shot of him ?'....

Cheers,
  Cotty
