Fisherman's Wharf food is, for the most part, tourist fare. Years ago, before the area was developed to accommodate the teeming throngs, there were a few good restaurants in the area. There are far better places in The City to get good clam chowder. Swan Oyster Depot and Patricia Unterman's Hayes Street Grill come quickly to mind.
